-
- What are CEDPGPScripts ?
- ========================
-
- With these scripts you can crypt/decrypt PGP messages when using the
- CygnusED (hereafter CED) with Offline 1.32-> or with THOR. It's
- possible to crypt a not crypted message when you leave CED, and it's
- possible to leave CED without or with crypting the reply to a crypted
- message. And you may chose whether you want a message to be crypted
- before it is given to the mailreader/BBS.
-
-
- Needed to use the CEDScripts:
- =============================
-
- - Pretty Good Privacy V2.3a (PGP) for the Amiga installed correctly.
- (The $PGPPATH and $TZ variables must be set!)
-
- - Offline V1.32 -> or THOR 1.0 ->.
-
- - CygnusED.
-
- - Amigados V2.04 or higher.
-
- - The grep command in the path.
-
- - The ESR command in the path.
-
-
- Installing:
- ===========
-
- Put the CEDPGP script in Offline's root dir, or if you use THOR, put
- it in BBSDATA:. Check that both the executable and script flags are
- set. To be sure use "protect +srwed CEDPGP". Put grep, ESR and
- QuoteMsg in the mail readers root dir or some place else in the path
- f.ex. c:. If you have THOR installed - put AddSig in the THOR:bin
- directory, if you havn't and you only use Offline, just delete it.
-
- With THOR you select global config and then general options. Select
- "External Editor". If the Ed replacement that comes with CED is placed
- in the c: dir and called it "CED.start", put the following line in the
- External Editor text gad:
-
- BBSDATA:CEDPGP c:CED.start
-
- With Offline you select editor from the setup menu. Then deselect
- "Internal Editor". If the Ed replacement that comes with CED is placed
- in the c: dir and called "CED.start" and the CEDPGP script is placed in
- the "Work:Offline" dir, put the following line in the Editor text gad:
-
- Work:Offline/CEDPGP c:CED.start
-
-
- How do these scripts work?
- ==========================
-
- If you reply a message crypted with PGP, a requester will pop up
- asking you for your PGP password. (The password is saved in the
- $PGPPASS variabel until a reset.) When the message in decrypted, which
- may take some time, it'll apper inn CED. When you exit CED, a requester
- will pop up, asking you who you want to crypt the reply for. Here you
- type the PGP-userid of the user you want to crypt the reply for. (This
- information will not be saved.)
-
- If you don't want to crypt the reply to a PGP message when you exit
- CED just insert a line with exactly:
-
- -=-=-=-=-=-DO NOT PGPCRYPT!-=-=-=-=-=-
-
- in the reply. This line will be removed and the reply will not be
- crypted.
-
- If you want to crypt a reply to a not crypted message when you leave
- CED, or you want to enter a crypted message to someone, just insert
- a line with exactly:
-
- -=-=-=-=-=- PGPCRYPT! -=-=-=-=-=-
-
- in the reply/message. This line will also be removed and the
- reply/message will be crypted. It may be a good idea to make two macros
- in CED which insert these lines.
-
-
- Warning!
- ========
-
- If you crypt a reply or a message to someone, it is _not_ possible to
- decrypt it without the receiver's PGP key and password. Therefore, if
- you want to edit something in the reply or message before you send it,
- use the macrokey function to prevent crypting. When the reply is
- finnished just use the crypt macrokey before exiting CED. If you try to
- edit a reply you have crypted for someone, you will get the crypted
- reply in CED.
-
-
- Last Warning!
- =============
-
- If you type an invalid password or a nonexsisting PGPuserid , it'll
- may cause a hang or a software failure (guru). Therefore - dobbelcheck
- what you type!!
-
-
- Known Problems:
- ===============
-
- For some strange reason won't the ESR requesters apper on the THOR
- screen. They always apper on the WB screen. This works fine with the
- FSE scripts so it should be possible to make "workaround-patch" for
- this, but it would be a hack and then it may not be system friendly.
-
-
- Version changes:
- ================
-
- 0.9 -> 1.0 : - Converted the FSEPGP scripts to work as one script with
- CED.
-
-
